Fresh from long term ownership in a well known collection this 1982 Datsun 200SX Roadster is being offered for sale for the first time in decades. Exceedingly rare in roadster form, this custom conversion was preformed by the artisans at American Custom Coachworks Ltd. of Beverly Hills, CA. This 200SX Roadster has covered just over 66, 000 miles from new and presented in its original, unrestored condition. Every feature from the cassette stereo, air conditioning, power windows, cruise control to the electronic systems monitoring system is in perfect working order. The 2.2Liter, 4 cylinder, overhead cam, 2 plug per cylinder, hemi-chambered engine starts instantly and runs as new delivering an exhilarating 102hp to the rear wheels via the crisp shifting 5 speed manual transmission. This combination allows the driver to fully explore the limits of drive train performance without exceeding the capabilities of the sport tuned roadster chassis. The virtually stain free velour and vinyl interior trim harkens back to a simpler, softer and fuzzier time of automotive design and accentuates the bold, angular and mostly plastic construction of the dash and console. The dash features a “Multi Warning System” that, without the aid of vacuum tubes or punch cards, conducts an exhaustive 3-point systems check to assure that the fuel tank, cooling system and windshield washer fluid reservoir are filled to sufficient capacity as to ensure safe motoring. This near weapons grade computational masterpiece functions perfectly. This rakish roadster delivers every bit of motoring pleasure its striking good looks promise. With the luxurious marine grade and nearly puncture free vinyl top stowed beneath the bespoke boot cover you are free to soak up the adoration of the stunned onlookers as you promenade down your favorite motorway. Exclusive, distinctive and sporty are all words that were found in a dictionary that was left near this car. Now is your opportunity to etch your name in history next to the greats that came before and become the latest steward of this masterpiece. Offered for a mere $4200 (US), contact Alan Galbraith at agalbraith@concoursdlemons.com for this is the opportunity of a lifetime.
